Welcome to Chin Up! Al Nido del Falco, we are Paola and Tonino, and together we manage this establishment nestled in the heart of the Sellata tourist area in Abriola. Here, among the Lucanian mountains, we have created a small corner of paradise where hospitality, good food, and nature blend into a unique experience.
Chin Up! is much more than just a restaurant: in addition to letting you savor authentic dishes prepared with local ingredients and lots of love, we also have three cozy cabins where you can stay for a rejuvenating break. Each cabin is furnished with care and attention to detail, to make you feel at home, but surrounded by the tranquility of nature.
Have you ever wondered why we chose our name?
To the original one - “Il nido del falco” - we wanted to add the expression
Chin up! Literally, it means “chin up” and also refers to a physical exercise performed with a bar. But Chin up! is also an encouragement for “strength” and “courage.”
The phonetic pronunciation is “Cin” which recalls the “cin cin” (cheers) and “Ap” which means up and refers to the Lucanian Apennines.
So, Chin Up! for us is a high-altitude toast of joy and sharing.
The glasses and peaks in the logo, in fact, represent a convivial gesture to be shared with the managers of the facility, with friends, with family, with guests staying here in the mountains. A ritual that starts new friendships.
P.S. If you think about it, when you make a “cin cin” don’t you raise your glass and your chin up to drink??? 😜
