Sellata locality
Located in the heart of the Lucanian Apennines, the Sellata-Monte Pierfaone area ranges from the 1350 meters of Sellata up to the 1744 meters of Monte Pierfaone, and the 1700 meters of Monte Arioso, in a panoramic setting surrounded by the Vulturino and Viggiano mountains. The Sellata - Arioso is a ski area made up of two locations, Abriola and Sasso di Castalda, in the heart of Basilicata just a few kilometers from Potenza. These mountains offer an unspoiled environment, characterized by the presence of centuries-old beech and oak trees. Among the wildlife, the wolf, a protected species, the fox, the hedgehog, and the squirrel stand out. Among the birds of prey are the kite (black and royal), the buzzard, and the kestrel.

Discover the activities to do in our facility or nearby
Ski facilities and slopes, snowshoeing both during the day and at night, excursions, yoga, yoga trekking, moon trekking, forest bathing, gong bath, horseback riding, independent walks through the woods to admire the beautiful beech forests in the area, a walk to the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Monteforte in Abriola where you can admire all the peaks in the area and observe the wild Lucanian nature.
In autumn, the main activity is chestnut picking in the nearby village of Calvello.
Astronomy activities: observation of the night sky in summer.
Fresh pasta workshop, desserts and many other Lucanian and Italian delicacies.
We recommend visiting the Town of Abriola, the town of lovers, whose Patron Saint is St. Valentine and the celebration of the saint and town festival is on February 14th. Also in town, you can visit, by reservation and accompanied by a guide, the beautiful De Stefano Palace, the Podolico Caciocavallo Cave and the historic chocolate shop of the town.
